THE MOST RIDICULOUS TOURNAMENT IN HISTORY

Flamengo, what a great team. I am going to talk a little bit more about this team's glorious history. 5 times champion of the Brazilian League, how astonishing. There is only one thing I would like to point out. In 1987, the tournament was by elimination, not rounds. Flamengo and Sport made it to the finals, and Flamengo did not want to play the last game. It was a very strange decision and logically both teams were considered champions.
This Sunday, Flamengo had to leave Campinas victorious to have a chance of reaching 1st place. They payed Corinthians to have Chicão and Mano Menezes receive red cards. Theres more, Ronaldo left the field in the first half faking he was hurt. It still dosen't end here, Flamengo was awarded a penalti shot and Felipe, Corinthians' goalkeeper, did not even jump to save the ball that was kicked a foot away from his hand. After the goal, he began to clap to Flamengo's players.
Soccer around the world has been encountering problems of money being involved for the manipulations of game results. 200 games in Europe are under investigation. The fourth and first division of the best soccer in the world are involved in corruption. What will soccer be like in 20 years ? Will it ever be fair ? I hope.
When I listen to my father speaking of how soccer in the past was fair and played clean, it makes me wonder, where is the world leading too ? Even one of the most popular sports in the world are getting involved in corruption. I wish money could not take over people, then we would have a fair world.
Congratulations to Palmeiras, Sao Paulo and Internacional for playing such a fair tournament. Corinthians and Flamengo, what to say about these dirty teams ? I don't have words to explain how mad I am. I really hope that this type of thing stops happening in soccer. If Flamengo ends as champions, the only team I will consider 6 times champions of Brazil is Sao Paulo Futebol Clube.

Watch the best goal of the whole championship scored by Diego Souza.

Sport- ALMOST .

Palmeiras tied with Sport Clube Recife this Wednesday. It was a ridiculous result for a team that is planning to be the champion of 2009. After the bad start, Palmeiras was behind the score by two goals. Winning was a very difficult task to be reached, but the tie seemed easier for Palmeiras at Palestra Italia. Deyvid Sacconi scored Palmeiras` first goal in the match, starting the reaction. Danilo, in a very legitimate goal, tied the game 2 x 2. Although his possition was legal, the referee whistled twice, with no reason. This caused a lot of confusion and the players from the visiting team began to argue with the referee. Once again, Fluminense was favored and the game may be rescheduled because of the confusion caused by the referee. I believe this will be very good for Palmeiras because the game will begin 0x0 again, and may have the chance to win the game.

Palmeiras has played Sport 10 times in the last two years, putting them down to the second division will be a great happening. I am very happy that this nonimportant team, that possesses no history at all, gets sent down to the second division by my glorious Palmeiras ! Image taken from HERE.

******* REFEREE

It was a sweaty, disputed and controversial game, but Fluminense beat Palmeiras 1 x 0, in the afternoon of Sunday, for the 35th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro at Maracanã with an audience of 66,884 people. Fred used his head to score the only goal validated in the match. This happened because Obina also scored a goal after abeautiful header. This happened when the gamed was tied 0x0. The amateur FIFA referee did not validate the goal because he saw and inexisting foul during the play. I am very pissed at what happened. This was only the first of the 3 goals that were considered illegal by the refs this round. What I consider incredible is that the only team that is ever favored by the bad calls is SAO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE, the dirtiest team in brazilian soccer.
Toninho Cecílio, Palmeiras' director is also pissed as all fans. He believes that it is too much of a coincidence since all team in the top 10 are being affected, except the BAMBIS, as São Paulo is called by all fans.

See the best moments of the game and the goal poorly unvalidated. 1:10 here.

Vasco

After 11 months of agony, anxiety and uncertainty, the crowd never stopped believing. With 78,609 fans,Vasco da Gama broke the attendance record of the year in Brazilian football surpassing the 78,409 of last Fla-Flu, on October 4th. With 70 points earned, the team from rio can no longer be reached by Figueirense, who is in fifth place in the final four rounds. As a reward, they saw in this sunny Saturday, November 7, 2009, Vasco returs to Serie A in the 34th round. This was a very good thing since my second team is Vasco da Gama.

Palmeiras played Santo Andre in ABC this wednesday (i was there). In the first half, the team from the capital had more chances of scoring goals. Santo Andre didn`t even seem to care that Palmeiras needed to win this game to maintain the 4 point lead. Nunes, scored two goals for Santo Andre and left Bruno José Daniel with 3 more points.

Atlético Mineiro played Vitória this Saturday and left Mineirão with 3 points. This result was very bad for Palmeiras since they did not sum points this round. Atlético is now 1 point from Palmeiras and is going to cheer for Goiás to beat Palmeiras next game.

The tournament is getting more interesting every round, even though my team has not summed points in 4 rounds. I am hoping this bad streak begins to change.

Palmeiras

This Sunday, Palmeiras played an important game. If the team from Palestra Itália won, the championship would almost be over because São Paulo Futebol Clube had lost on Saturday in São Paulo. Thus, this victory needed, did not happen. Petkovic, a veteran, scored 2 goals and Flamengo left São Paulo with a great result.
Now, after the humiliating defeat at home, Palmeiras has to try to make up for the 3 lost points at Santo André's stadium. This game is considered easy and I expect a 2 x 0 game.

Palmeiras went to Santos this Sunday to play agianst Santos at Vila Belmiro. Palmeiras began playing better but was surprised by Santos which made 1 x 0. Muricy Ramalho Palmeiras' coach, substituted Obina for Robert. The game changed and Palmeiras scored 3 goals and maintained the lead. Vagner Love scored the goal.

27th round

Corinthians disappointed the fans on this Saturday. The game ended 3 x 1 for Atletico Paranaense. Felipe, Corinthians` goal keeper did not play a good match.
Atletico Mineiro beat Barueri and did not disappoint the 44 thousand fans that went to the stadium. Atletico is now getting closer to the G4. Which is made up of the 4 first teams at the end of the tournament. These teams will be playing the Copa Libertadores in 2010.

Great Game

I went to the game this evening. Palmeiras played a great match and is now leading the league by 6 points.

All Palmeiras fans will be cheering for Corinthians on Sunday against São Paulo. This will be a very good match.
Palmeiras paid R$100,000 for Danilo to play against his old team. Palmeiras needed to pay this much because of the contract that Danilo signed. He is still Atletico Paranaenses player.
Toninho Cecilio, director, took a very wise decision. I am glad this happened, since I was there. (:

Today, there was a very ridiculous fight between two teams of the second division . Paraná's stricker made a goal using his hand, which is not allowed in soccer. Ceará's athletes became very angry and began a fight with the other team. See the goal and the fight here.
This is something that should not happen in soccer mainly because soccer is for entertainment. I believe that fights like these are what makes families with small children not go to the stadium to see the game. Brazil should be an example since it will be hosting the 2014 world cup.
There was another strange fight between two gangs: Força Jovem Vasco and Torcida Fúria Independente. Vasco's fans stole a flag from the the rival gang and the police had to hit the fans to try to get the flag back. 52 thousand tickets were sold before the match, and the game ended Vasco 1 x 0 Guarani at Maracanã.

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Last saturday,Palmeiras beat Barueri 2 x 1. Guess who scored? Vagner Love. He played an expectacular game and helped Palmeiras win the game . São Paulo also played a great game against Cruzeiro at Belo Horizonte. The goals were scored by two players that replaced two others.

São Paulo played again this Saturday, the 12th. They beat Avaí, which has been in the first positions in the tournament. This victory was very important so Palmeiras can not construct a very large lead if they beat Vitória on Sunday.

Corinthians x Santos -

Wednesday, Corinthians and Santos played a very good game. Santos scored first and Corinthians scored 2 after a lot of pressure coming from the fans. They wanted victory because Tuesday Corinthians completed 99 years of existance. The players dedicated the victory as a present to all the fans. This result was very good for Corinthains since they had tied the last game. This was only one of the 10 games this round that will be happening on the weekend.

Visit the blog on Monday to get informed about how the round was. Thanks.

Last round, Palmeiras' game against São Paulo ended up in a tie. After this great game, Palmeiras remains in first place and São Paulo in its same position. The biggest threat to Palmeiras is Goias, which has been playing very well and is only 1 point behind. Palmeiras now bought Vagner Love which is one of the best brazilian players playing in Asia. He played for Palmeiras in 2003 and 2004 and was one of the lead scorers.
Corinthians tied with Barueri, 2 x 2. That was a really bad result for both teams because if they won, they would get closer to the first teams in the overall classification.
Saturday we will have another round. Palmeiras will play at Palestra Italia against Barueri. Today, 22 thousand tickets were sold. I expect a very good game since I will be there.
